It’s hawthorn season again! Today, let’s make a delightful treat – hawthorn sugar snowballs. The sweet sugar coating wrapped around the tangy hawthorn creates a perfect blend of flavors. After a few failed attempts, I’ve documented the steps clearly. Follow along with the pictures, and you’re sure to succeed!
Ingredients:
- Hawthorn: 500 grams
- White vinegar: 6 grams
- Water: 130 grams
- Granulated sugar: 250 grams
Instructions:
- Use small hawthorns for this recipe.
- Prepare the ingredients.
- Rinse the hawthorns with clean water, remove the stems, and drain excess water or air-dry. (Make sure the surface of the hawthorns is completely dry.)
- Heat a pan over low heat, add water.
- Add white granulated sugar.
- Stir continuously with a spatula.
- Keep stirring to prevent sticking to the pan. Ensure the sugar completely dissolves, and then large bubbles start forming in the center.
- Continue low heat, keep stirring. Once the sugar is completely melted, and large bubbles appear in the middle, proceed to the next step.
- Maintain low heat, keep stirring, and small bubbles will form around the edges.
- Eventually, the bubbles in the center will become smaller.
- The entire pan will be filled with tiny bubbles.
- Immediately pour in the white vinegar, then turn off the heat. Stir and let it cool for a while.
- Add the prepared hawthorns.
- Stir-fry; initially, it will be sticky due to the sugar syrup.
- As you continue, it will turn white.
- Keep stirring until it becomes sandy.
- They are now ready to be enjoyed!
Super delicious!
