In the summertime, milk pudding is a popular dessert to beat the heat. However, if your family is getting tired of it, it’s time to get creative. Luckily, we had a ripe papaya at home, so I decided to make a papaya milk jelly—a chewy and refreshing treat that’s really delicious. It’s simple, convenient, and requires no advanced culinary skills. If you’re craving something delightful, let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- Papaya: 1
- Whole milk: 1 box (250g)
- Granulated sugar: 40g
- Gelatin sheets: 2
Instructions:
- Scoop out the inside of the papaya with a spoon and clean it thoroughly.
- Soak the gelatin sheets in water until they become soft.
- On low heat, stir sugar into the milk until the sugar completely dissolves. When the temperature is slightly lower, add the soaked gelatin sheets and stir until they melt.
- Once the milk-gelatin mixture has cooled, place papaya slices at the bottom of a container. Then, pour in the milk-gelatin mixture.
- Use toothpicks to secure the lid, then refrigerate for 5-6 hours.
- It looks tempting and delicious.
- Time to enjoy! This is the taste of summer—refreshing!
Tips:
- Adjust the sugar quantity according to your preference.
- When cutting into slices, wet the knife with a damp cloth each time to prevent sticking.
- Be patient; make sure to let it chill for enough time.
Note: The term “Q弹” in Chinese refers to a chewy or bouncy texture, often used to describe food that has a delightful elasticity or resilience.
